Comment: Have you ever been in a situation when you thought afterwards “mayybe I should’ve said something…”
==========

Is there a “Shuda spoke up but didn’t” incident – YES
Examples: kinda hinted that in the video, we were praying taraweeh in the basement of a masjid and usually the later you arrive for salah the more chances of being with a psycho-dude.
That night this uncle went off on a few kids chatting in the background, shouting at them like they egged his car or something – “shut uuup, get out of the moshjeed (Bengali accent of course), get out”
This guy disrupted the prayer more than a gang of kids in the basement could…then all of us spectators avoided eye-contact with the guy and of course quietly joined the prayer
Shuda done – (1) Ask the kids to quiet down or direct them to a better place to chill, no point getting angry or (2) Talk to the uncle casually to calm him down and not enter/exit prayer and Ramadan with so much rage
Asalaamu alaikum, JazakAllah khair for another great video. I will inshAllah be checking out the Ramadan website.
I have a ” i should have said something story” … This Ramadan I have have tried to attend traweeh every day at the mosque and alhumdulillah i’m really enjoying it. But for some reason, some of the other ladies that attend don’t know that when praying together you shouldn’t leave gaps, instead people we missing out lines and praying anywhere basically. Just before the start of Isha, the imaam would make an announcement telling everyone to straighten their rows and to switch off mobile phone.. never reminding people to ensure there shouldn’t be huge gaps between one another.
I felt so bad, i wanted to say something but the majority of ladies where ‘aunties’ and i didn’t want to come across as rude and thinking i know more/better.. that i feel would only push people away.
Alhumdulillah, one particular aunty tries every day to make sure the gaps are filled ( my hero
) and things have improved… i do hope that inshAllah i too can speak up and say something…
Salama alakium, dude. mashallah i’m amazed at seeing someone taking charge of what you want to achieve in this world and the hereafter. i seriously need your help because i’m the type that normally chose to make excuses for myself and distract myself on what needs to be done.
To be honest with you it’s would be a miracle to see myself in your shoes. subhanallah may allah bless you with laylatul qadr and your family with the upmost love and may allah love you more than i ameen
Haha, funny article man.
My “shoulda said something” story, is about a guy praying beside me who smelled like ****…the whole salaah im covering my nose cuz he smelled like freshly coming from cigarette time….
that’s what i get for coming late to the back rows (the front rows are usually more “normal”)
Sigh…Ramadan stories.
@Anisah – wa alaikum assalaam.
That’s true. Seeing that on the mens’ side many people leave gaps, aunties would especially not be used to the shoulder-shoulder and they don’t frequent the masjid as much to know the “rules”…generally
There’s also that awkward moment when you tap someone to fill a gap…and they just stand there and stare at you
@Hodan – wa alaikum assalaam warahmatullah,
Jazakallahukhair for sharing that, Ameen to the du’a.
May Allah bless you + your family this Ramadan and beyond, accept the du’as and ibadaat.
@Mohamed Somali – I know what you mean man, happened to me last year and I was pissed off most of the salah…
Coincidentally I have an idea for that, thus a video for that. inshaAllah.
Asallam Alaikum,
One of my beloved resources for this Ramadan was a webinar conducted by Sheikh Tawfique. I can’t put into words how awesome it was! It is a must read/listen (both are available).

Assalamualaikum,
Jazak’Allah Khairun,
great reminder&entertaining.
I got a story; at taraweh there was a gap so i taped the sister beside me to come closer and she moved in & so did the rest of the row. Another day at taraweh, same thing happened, i tapped the youngsister beside me and she tapped me back -_-… i realised she wasn’t getting it so i continued with the prayer, but she kept tapping me(as a jk). kina hurt my khushu, then i thought “maybe, i shouldn’ta done that”, but it was a dawah opportunity afterwords.
